Taissier Khalaf

Taissier Khalaf is a Palestinian-Syrian novelist and researcher, born in 1967. His short story collection Other Cats (1993) was followed in 1996 by the novel Notebooks of the Inclining Shoulder, and since then he has published over fifty books of literature, historical studies, and travel literature. Among his most important works is the eight-volume work An Encyclopedia of the Journeys of the Arabs and Muslims in Palestine (2009). His most recent novels include Moviola (2013), The Slaughter of the Philosophers (2016, IPAF-longlisted in 2017), and Darwin’s Sparrows (2018).
