Tasneem Taha

Tasneem Taha is a Sudanese novelist and translator, born in Shendi, north Sudan, in 1982. She graduated with a degree in French Literature from Al Neelain University, Khartoum, in 2006, before going on to obtain a Masters in Human Sciences from Clermont-Ferrand University, France, in 2013. She writes a blog in both Arabic and French. Taha has published two short story collections: Behind the Bridge, which won the Manf Prize for Arabic Literature in 2020, and A Difficult Labour, winner of the Traajim Prize for Creative Writing in 2021. Her two novels are Sanaa, Cairo, Khartoum, which achieved third place in the Kemet Prize for the Arabic Novel in 2020, and The Arrow of Artemis, winner of the Farid Ramadan Prize for the Arabic Novel in 2022. Taha has lived in Paris since 2010.
